UP approves ₹4,210-cr for multiple infra projects

The Uttar Pradesh government has recently approved ₹4,210 crore, which also included the central grants component worth ₹330 crore, for the construction of various infrastructure projects across the state, said an official spokesperson, adding that in the second supplementary budget the state has allocated a sum of more than ₹1,700 crore to the state industries department for the existing and upcoming infrastructure projects. In the road sector, the state has cleared ₹960 crore to the UP Expressway Industrial Development Authority (UPEIDA) to settle the prepayment of loan from HUDCO for the ongoing Purvanchal Expressway project. Besides, ₹500 crore and ₹200 crore have been allocated for the construction of Purvanchal Expressway and Bundelkhand Expressway respectively and also ₹86 crore has been provided for the organization of the forthcoming 11th National Defence corridor.
