Decks cleared for ₹14,000-cr coastal road project

Road Project
Decks have been cleared for the construction of the ₹14,000 crore Mumbai coastal road project with the Supreme Court giving go-ahead for the road venture, which has been aimed easing flow of traffic between northern and southern areas of the metropolis. However, the bench said that the construction work could start, the project proponent and the contractor would not carry out ancillary development work, like water parks and gardens on both sides of the coastal road, till further orders. The SC will go for final hearing in April 2020, which means the contractor can execute substantial work over the next five months, said official sources.
