Sagarmala Programme Boosting Port Modernization & Coastal Infrastructure

Under the Sagarmala Programme, 234 projects worth ₹2.91 lakh crore are being implemented across coastal states and Union Territories to modernize ports and enhance infrastructure. These projects are led by central ministries, IWAI, Indian Railways, state governments, and major ports.
So far, 103 projects valued at ₹32,634 crore have been completed, while 56 projects worth ₹74,744 crore are under implementation. The Ministry of Ports, Shipping, and Waterways is also providing partial funding for 119 projects under the Sagarmala Scheme, totaling ₹9,407 crore, with 72 projects already completed.
In Andhra Pradesh, 12 projects worth ₹2,410 crore are receiving Sagarmala funding, including those under the Visakhapatnam Port Authority. Of these, seven projects have been completed.
The construction and upgrading of major ports across India involve both public and private sector companies, with further details available in the annexed documents.
