Nitin Gadkari launches Rs 2,900-cr NH Projects in Andhra Pradesh

Union Minister for Road Transport and Highways, Nitin Gadkari, laid the foundation stone for three national highway projects in Tirupati, Andhra Pradesh. These projects span a total length of 87 kms and have a combined cost of Rs 2,900 Crore. The first project is the Naidupate-Turpu Kanupur Section of NH-71, covering 35 km with an investment of ₹1,399 Crore. The second project is the Chillakuru Cross-Krishnapatnam Port South Gate Section via Turpu Kanupur on NH-516W, spanning 36 km and valued at ₹909 Crore. The third project, the Thamminapatnam-Narikellapalle Section, involves an extension of the Dedicated Port Road, covering 16 km on NH-516W and NH-67, with a value of ₹610 Crore.

Gadkari highlighted that these initiatives aim to provide improved connectivity to Krishnapatnam Port, enhancing accessibility to national master plan nodes, industrial nodes, and SEZ at Nellore. They will also enhance safety and convenience for devotees visiting religious destinations like the Shri Balaji Temple in Tirupati and the Shri Shiva Temple in Srikalahasti. Gadkari emphasized the government's commitment to ensuring swift and energy-efficient mobility under the leadership of Prime Minister Narendra Modi. The projects are expected to boost tourism, connecting attractions such as the Nelapatu Bird Sanctuary and SHAR at Sriharikota, while also creating employment opportunities.
