MoRTH fast tracks Kiratpur-Nerchowk NH project in HP

MoRTH
Construction work on the 48-km stretch of the Kiratpur-Nerchowk national highway stretch has been fast-tracked and will be completed by the end of this year. The ongoing work on the Kiratpur in Punjab and Nerchowk in Himachal Pradesh is a four-lane project directly connecting Manali through five tunnels and 22 bridges over the Sutlej River. On completion, the project will reduce the journey time between Kiratpur and Kullu by up to four hours, which in turn apart from providing relief to road users will also boost tourism in the hill state. The tardy work on this road project was a big jolt to the tourism industry of Kullu-Manali.
