MoRTH clears ₹10,000-cr Aurangabad-Pune NH project

MoRTH
Union Road Transport and Highways Minister, Nitin Gadkari, has cleared the construction of an access-controlled expressway between Aurangabad and Pune at ₹10,000 crore. It aims at reducing the travel time to 1.15 hours as against four to five hours currently.

He also laid the foundation stone of four other road projects worth ₹2,253 crore and dedicated 86 km of roads on National Highway No. 52 worth ₹3,216 crore. Since there will be no turns on the highway, the vehicles could move at a speed of up to 140 km per hour. This new alignment will go from Paithan and Ahmednagar regions and a double-decker bridge will be constructed on Jalna Road in Aurangabad to resolve traffic issues.
