Madhya Pradesh Cabinet Approves Rs 1,757 Crore Bhopal-Vidisha Four-Lane Highway Project
The 44.83-km road will be widened from two to four lanes with paved shoulders under the Hybrid Annuity Model (HAM). The Madhya Pradesh Road Development Corporation (MPRDC) will fund 40% of the construction cost, including GST, through the State Highway Fund, while the remaining 60% will be paid through half-yearly annuities over 15 years from the state budget.
The Cabinet also approved the extension of toll collection on the 51.96-km Bhopal Bypass from July 19, 2026, to December 31, 2031, ahead of its proposed widening from four to six lanes. The Public Works Department has also been authorised to extend the toll period by another five years if required.
In addition, the Cabinet sanctioned Rs 44,515.13 crore for the continuation of major health programmes from April 2026 to March 2031, including the National Health Mission, Ayushman Bharat-PMJAY, disease control initiatives and health infrastructure safety programmes.
The state also approved Rs 918 crore to continue the Forest Department's dividend distribution scheme for Joint Forest Management Committees until 2030-31.
