Himachal CM Lays Foundation for Rs 175 Crore PMGSY Road Projects in Chamba

Himachal Pradesh Chief Minister Sukhvinder Singh Sukhu laid the foundation stone for 15 road projects worth around Rs 175 crore in Chamba district under PMGSY-IV and NABARD, aimed at improving rural connectivity and strengthening the state's road infrastructure.

The projects include the Drabla Link Road, Samotha Link Road, Fatehpur Road, Nanan Link Road, Seru Road, Chhatargram Link Road, Ghater Road, Chanjun Road, Rundega Road, Basdan Road, Mangla-Ohi-Bhadari-Kapara Road, Mankot Road, Malouna-Kaltana Road, Rajera-Balli Road and Kariyan-Baijri Road.

Road infrastructure development in Chamba district is progressing at a rapid pace and announced that road projects worth Rs 591 crore are expected to commence over the next two to three months.

CM also laid the foundation stone for a parking project worth Rs 32 crore, stating that there is no shortage of funds for development works in the district.

During the visit, the Chief Minister inaugurated a 200-bed modern hospital building at Pandit Jawaharlal Nehru Government Medical College and Hospital, Chamba. The facility would enhance healthcare services for residents of Chamba, Bharmour, Pangi, Churah, Salooni and nearby areas by reducing the need to travel outside the district for advanced treatment.

The state government has sanctioned Rs 456 crore in three phases for the construction of the medical college and that discussions are underway to equip the hospital with modern medical equipment.
