Centre sanctions ₹1,539-cr for six-lane highway in Odisha

Odisha six lane highway
The Centre has approved the development of six-lane Kaliagura-Baunsaguar section of NH-130 under the Raipur-Visakhapatnam Economic Corridor in Odisha, at around ₹1,539 crore investment. Union road transport and highways minister Nitin Gadkari informed that the 240-km long greenfield project has been cleared under the Bharatmala Pariyojna plan. It will be developed through Nabarangpur and Koraput districts and will pass through some of the interior pockets like Raighara, Umerkote, Jharigaon, Dabugoan, Papadahandi and Nabarangpur in Nabarangpur district and Boriguma, Dasamantapur, Koraput, Semiliguda and Pottangi areas in Koraput district. The land acquisition process for the project is in the advanced stage while both the Koraput and Nabarangpur district administrations are extending full support. As this project will be a big boost for the socio-economic development of the tribal-dominated region, both the Centre and state government are giving it a top priority.
