Road widening project on the anvil

Road Widening Project
The Maharashtra State Road Development Corporation is all set to start the widening of Mumbai and Navi Mumbai road stretch between Palaspe and Kalamboli at an investment of Rs. 37cr, said official sources, claiming that this is an important road as it takes motorists towards the old Mumbai-Pune Highway and also upto the Mumbai–Goa highway. Currently, the 3.7 km stretch between Palaspe and Kalamboli is narrow, as it is an arterial road and causes a lot of inconvenience to road users. There will also be an underpass that will be constructed near Khanda Colony signal in Old Panvel between Palaspe and Kalamboli. On this score, the MSRDC has invited tenders for both projects and once the bids are submitted, the work orders will be issued instantly and the projects will be completed in 18 months, they claimed.
