In an attempt to ensure hassle-free movement of vehicular traffic in the city, the Indore Development Authority (IDA) has given 'go-ahead' to complete the ring road project on the western fringes starting from Dhar road to airport road. In this connection, the board has given administrative approval and sanctioned the requisite funds for the purpose. The road will be 60 feet wide as per provisions of master plan 2021 and once it is commissioned, it will provide a much shorter route to airport. It is worth mentioning here that the construction of this part of ring road project is pending for the past one decade as the project confronted major hurdle in the removal of over 2000 houses built on proposed road. According to an estimate IDA would need Rs. 200-cr for construction of the road including civil work and compensation payment, said sources.
