RInfra secures Rs. 3,675-cr EPC contracts

In its quest to add to its existing project portfolio in the infra sector, Reliance Infrastructure Limited (RInfra) has recently secured an EPC order of Rs. 3,675-cr from NLC India Limited for setting-up two lignite-based CFBC thermal power plants. The projects in question command a capacity of 250 MW each, said official sources, claiming that the plants will be set up at Barsingsar and Bithnok of Bikaner district in Rajasthan, on the engineering, procurement, and construction (EPC) on turnkey basis on Circulating Fluidized Bed Combustion (CFBC) technology. The projects, which will include boiler, turbine, and generator and balance of plant, are to be commissioned in 40 months. RInfra won the bid amidst stiff competition against leading EPC players. Expression of Interest (EOI) for Qualification Requirement (QR) through International Competitive Bidding (ICB) was floated and leading companies including RInfra, BHEL, Lanco, SEPCO I, SEPCO III and BGR Energy participated in the bid, they said.
