Real estate awaits quicker eco clearance norms

Environmental clearance for real estate projects is being reduced to 60 days, said the Union Environment and Forests Minister. He said that small procedural delays are being eliminated without compromising on environmental concerns. The priority is both environmental protection and development The suggestions of institutions like NAREDCO are very important and his ministry is in the process of issuing standard conditions for every project, such as water recycling and water harvesting as per the size of the real estate project. The government is bringing about a regime change with fewer conditions but ensures their fullest implementation. If need be, it is going to amend the law so that real estate gets ease of doing responsible business. The ministry is also in discussion with the states to make the environmental process smoother and less time consuming.
