Railway unveils ₹789 cr terminal in Tamil Nadu

In a bid to ensure smooth flow of rail traffic, the Indian Railways has decided to build a new terminal in Mysuru, which will come up at Naganahalli and funds worth ₹789 crore already approved by the central government. The project will entail creating a new facility for operating additional services from Mysuru to rest of India, district in-charge Minister; Pratap Simha, said, adding that senior officials of the district administration recently conducted a site inspection at Naganahalli. The project requires nearly 400 acres for laying new stabling lines, pit lines, and construction of at least six platforms, among other works. The detailed project report is being prepared by the construction wing of the Railways and is expected to be ready by November after which it would be submitted to the Railway Board for final approval to start the construction work.
