Pune pushes three metro rail projects

Pune metrorail projects
The three Metro lines in Pune will become operational by 2022, two of which are being developed by MahaMetro, and the third by the Pune Metropolitan Region Development Authority (PMRDA). Union minister Prakash Javadekar said that the 12-km stretch of Pune Metro's first phase from Phugewadi to Sant Tukaramnagar and Anandnagar to Garware College would be completed by next month. The financial closure and land transfer of the third Metro line — Hinjewadi to Shivajinagar — will also be completed soon as the DPR for the remaining Metro lines has also been undertaken by the Delhi Metro Rail Corporation (DMRC). The minister also reviewed the Mula-Mutha river rejuvenation project to be executed with the help of the Japan International Cooperation Agency and will be taken forward after working out strategies with the State and Centre governments, he added.
