Pune plans dedicated road corridor

dedicated road corridor in pune
In order to improve connectivity in the area, the state authorities have decided to build an elevated corridor connecting the proposed international airport at Purandar with Pune and its suburbs. The dedicated corridor under consideration could connect the airport with Chakan at Khed Taluka besides Pune. Chakan is around 33 km north of Pune and the final plan would be drawn after the ground level survey is over and the rehabilitation package is announced. An expressway to the spot is a good idea because apart from passenger movements, there will be heavy cargo movement. It is also under consideration of Pune Municipal Corporation (PMC) the Pune metro-rail could be connected with the new airport and a feasibility study on the same would be undertaken shortly.
