Pune metro pushes ₹1,000 cr extension

The extension of the metro rail corridor upto Chandni chowk in Pune, is on the card, at an investment of ₹1,000 crore. Pune Municipal Corporation will extend a helping hand for works like drafting the detailed project report (DPR), works like land acquisition, shifting the municipal facilities and sharing the details of civic facilities. The DPR for this metro stretch is expected to be drafted in the days to come with the help of experts. The Metro Rail Corporation is going to bear the cost of construction of the additional stretch, said an industry insider, adding that the DPR will give details about the location of the additional stations, alignment of the Metro route and other services to be provided on the extended stretch. The extension will be carried out along the on the going Vanaj-Ramwadi metro corridor, said official sources.
