PCMC clears ₹150-cr road project

The Pimpri Chinchwad Municipal Corporation (PCMC) has decided to construct a 2 km-long road from Walhekarwadi to Dange chowk at an estimated cost of ₹150 crore within its jurisdiction, said an official spokesperson, adding that there is also a Bhakti Shakti chowk-Dange chowk road in the development plan connecting the Pune-Mumbai highway with Sangvi-Kiwale BRTS road. This will improve road connectivity in the city benefitting thousands of road users as they can easily reach from Nigdi, Akurdi and Chinchwad to Wakad, Hinjewadi to other areas. In this connection, the civic body is acquiring land for the development of this road stretch and is currently preparing the estimate for the project, which includes a bridge on Pavana river and then invite bids to kick start the mega project.
