Dr. P. K. Mishra, Principal Secretary to the Prime Minister, conducted site visits and high-level review meetings in Dholera and Lothal, Gujarat, to assess the progress of key infrastructure projects aligned with Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s vision for industrial and economic growth.

He inspected the under-construction Ahmedabad–Dholera Greenfield Expressway, implemented by the National Highways Authority of India (NHAI), emphasizing timely completion and global-standard road quality. The expressway is expected to cut travel time between Ahmedabad and Dholera to just 45 minutes.

At the Dholera Special Investment Region (DSIR), Dr. Mishra reviewed the upcoming Dholera International Airport, where cargo operations are set to begin by October 2025. He also visited Tata Electronics’ Semiconductor Fab project, a major step toward domestic chip manufacturing for mobile, electronics, and automotive sectors.

In addition, Dr. Mishra assessed social infrastructure including schools, hospitals, and housing developed by Dholera Industrial City Development Limited (DICDL), highlighting the importance of user-centric design and stakeholder feedback.

He chaired a comprehensive review meeting with senior officials from DICDL, DIACL, NHAI, Airports Authority of India, and Indian Railways, focusing on major connectivity projects such as the Ahmedabad–Dholera Expressway, Bhimnath–Dholera Freight Rail Link, and Semi-High-Speed Rail Line.

In Lothal, Dr. Mishra inspected the National Maritime Heritage Complex (NMHC), a flagship project under the Ministry of Ports, Shipping and Waterways. He directed that the complex serve as an academic and cultural tribute to India’s maritime legacy, calling for strong research, curated exhibits, and engaging visitor experiences. Phase I-A, including six galleries, is targeted for completion by August 2025.

Dr. Mishra also reviewed environmental sustainability efforts like local species plantation and advanced water management systems, underscoring the importance of balancing development with ecological responsibility.
