PM unveils plaques for ₹3,318-cr NH projects in Odisha
The Prime Minister during his recent visit to the state has laid the foundation stones for three national highway projects involving an investment of ₹3,318 crore and commanding a length of 200-km at Baripada area of Odisha. The national highway projects include four laning of the 43.2 km long Rimuli-Koida section of NH 215 costing ₹828.36 crore, four laning of 104.2 km length of Singara-Binjabahal section of NH-6 entailing a cost of ₹1,313 crore, and four laning of the 53.2 km stretch of Koida-Rajmunda Section of NH-215 at an investment of ₹1,176.4 crore. The road projects will include construction of four bypasses, three flyovers, 11 vehicular underpasses, 12 major bridges, 50 minor bridges and 34-km service roads. The commissioning of the projects will improve inter-state connectivity between Jharkhand, West Bengal and Odisha, and connectivity of the mineral rich districts with other parts and ports of the state, besides generating jobs for locals and substantial gains in terms of reduced operating cost of vehicles.
