PM Launches Infrastructure Projects Worth Over ₹58,000 Cr in Andhra Pradesh

Prime Minister Shri Narendra Modi inaugurated, dedicated to the nation, and laid the foundation stone for multiple development projects worth over ₹58,000 crore during his visit to Amaravati, Andhra Pradesh. These projects aim to boost infrastructure, connectivity, logistics, and defence preparedness in the region.
In a major push to road infrastructure, the Prime Minister inaugurated seven National Highway projects across Andhra Pradesh. These include the widening of highway sections, construction of road over bridges, and subways. The projects are set to improve road safety, enhance inter-state travel, and provide seamless connectivity to key religious and tourist destinations such as Tirupati, Srikalahasti, Malakonda, and Udayagiri Fort.
In the rail sector, he dedicated projects focused on boosting capacity and connectivity, including the doubling of the rail line between Bugganapalle Cement Nagar and Panyam stations, enhancing connectivity between Rayalaseema and Amaravati, and the construction of a third line between New West Block Hut Cabin and Vijayawada stations.
Foundation stones were laid for six more National Highway projects and one key railway project, which includes the construction of an elevated corridor, half clover leaf, road over bridge, and the Rail over Rail line between Guntakal West and Mallappa Gate stations, aimed at bypassing freight trains and decongesting Guntakal Junction.
A significant highlight was the foundation stone laying of multiple infrastructure projects in Amaravati, worth over ₹11,240 crore, including the construction of the Legislative Assembly, High Court, Secretariat, and housing for over 5,200 families. Additionally, trunk infrastructure and flood mitigation works valued at ₹17,400 crore will include a 320 km transport network with underground utilities and advanced flood management systems.
The Land Pooling Scheme infrastructure, worth ₹20,400 crore, will cover 1,281 km of roads with integrated utilities, central medians, and dedicated cycle tracks to support sustainable urban mobility in Amaravati.
In the defence sector, PM Modi laid the foundation stone for a Missile Test Range at Nagayalanka, worth around ₹1,460 crore. The facility will include a launch centre, indigenous radars, telemetry, and electro-optical systems, bolstering India’s defence preparedness
The Prime Minister also laid the foundation stone for the PM Ekta Mall at Madhurawada in Visakhapatnam. Envisioned to promote national integration, the Make in India initiative, and One District One Product, the mall will support rural artisans, enhance market access for indigenous goods, and create employment opportunities.
