Pink City smart project gets Rs. 186-cr

In an attempt to build world class smart city in the state capital of Rajasthan, the Union government has recently cleared Rs. 186-cr to fast track the mega smart city project. The amount assigned for Udaipur under the smart city mission involving Rs 159.20-cr has also been released by the centre government.

The funds, which were sanctioned on March 31 have reached the state and the concerned nodal agencies would initiate work under the Smart City Mission soon, said local self-government department's principal secretary Manjit Singh, adding that the meeting of the board of directors of Jaipur Smart Mission Limited, which is the special purpose vehicle (SPV) for taking forward the smart city proposal has already met at JMC headquarters to resolve issues like appointment of a chief executive officer (CEO) for the SPV, which has already been registered under the Companies Act, 2013 with 10-member board of directors that includes Jaipur mayor Nirmal Nahata, Jaipur development commissioner (JDC) Shikhar Agarwal, Jaipur collector Krishna Kunal and JMC CEO Ashutosh Pednekar, among others.
