Perkins Introduces Overhaul Kits for 2000 Series Engines
Timely engine servicing is key to extending equipment life, reducing downtime, and supporting sustainability. To aid equipment owners, Perkins has launched four new overhaul kits for its six-cylinder 2000 Series engines, providing cost-effective solutions to restore engines to near-new performance.

Available globally through Perkins distributors, these kits include genuine parts tailored for varying service levels based on engine usage and condition. They simplify ordering with a single part number, come with a 12-month warranty, and promote sustainability by reducing waste and the need for new raw materials.
The kits cater to different service requirements:
- Copper Kit: Targets top-end components like the cylinder head and valve train to address compression, leakage, and emissions. Ideal after 8,000 hours of operation.
- Bronze Kit: Covers top and bottom-end components for engines with 12,000–15,000 hours of use, addressing wear and restoring performance.
- Silver Kit: Adds pistons and cylinder liners for comprehensive renewal, enhancing performance and extending engine life.
- Platinum Kit: Designed for major overhauls, includes all Silver Kit components plus pumps, fuel injectors, and valve train parts to ensure peak performance.
Perkins 2000 Series engines, ranging from 13 to 18 liters with outputs of 358–470 kW, are used in generator sets, excavators, and industrial pumps. Choosing the right kit depends on running time and engine condition, with guidance available in the Operational Maintenance Manual or from qualified technicians.
“These overhaul kits allow owners to select the components they need to revitalise their engines and maximise their investments,” said Richard Hemmings, Perkins Aftermarket General Manager.
Perkins also offers overhaul kits for heritage engines, as well as its 400, 1100, and 4000 Series.
