Patna pushes Rs. 1,500-cr ring road project

In order to ensure smooth movement of vehicular traffic in the city, the state government is all set to start the Patna Ring Road Project at an investment of Rs. 1,500cr. The road will crisscross through Punpun in the south to Bihta in the west and also cover the proposed Ganga Path in the north, Chief Minister, Nitish Kumar said, adding that the project being jointly pursued by the state government and the National Highway Authority of India (NHAI), as it is a part of the special package of Rs 1.25 lakh-cr announced for Bihar by PM for the road project, which commands a length of 65 km with four to six lanes around Patna. The alignment of the ring road is likely in accordance with the new master plan of Patna, which has provisions for construction of inner and outer ring roads in the city's metropolitan region, he added.
