Berhampur–Jeypore
Odisha Chief Minister Mohan Charan Majhi has announced that the Berhampur–Jeypore road will be upgraded into a six-lane highway at an estimated cost of Rs 6,000 crore. The project is expected to function as a major economic corridor for southern Odisha, improving regional connectivity and boosting trade.

The chief minister said the state government is prioritising stronger road links across Odisha, connecting the eastern and southern regions with the northern and western belts in coordination with the central government.

Calling Berhampur the “heart of southern Odisha,” he announced that at least 10 major roads will be developed to enhance connectivity within the city and nearby areas, with a combined outlay of Rs 52.17 crore. Authorities have also been directed to prepare a DPR for developing a Greater Berhampur by integrating select adjoining panchayats.
