OBCC Unveils Three-Tier Corridor to Decongest Jaydev Vihar-Nandankanan Road

Odisha Bridge Construction Corporation (OBCC) Ltd has announced an ambitious three-tier transport corridor to ease congestion along the busy Jaydev Vihar-Nandankanan Road in Bhubaneswar.

The 13.2-km project will feature ground-level lanes for public transport, a four-lane elevated corridor for mixed traffic, and a top-tier exclusively for the proposed Metro system. This vertical integration marks a first-of-its-kind urban mobility initiative in the region.

OBCC has invited tenders from reputed firms for the project, which also includes 4.6 km of slip roads and flyovers near key landmarks like XIMB Square and Kalinga Hospital Square. The corridor will utilize a 60-metre right of way from Pal Heights to Baranga Square, transforming one of the city’s most congested routes into a streamlined transport corridor.
