Nitin Gadkari Inaugurates 8 Key Rail-Road Projects in Vidarbha; MahaRail Unveils Rs 609 Cr Infrastructure Push

Minister-Nitin-Gadkari
Vidarbha has received a major boost in rail-road connectivity with Union Minister for Road Transport and Highways Nitin Gadkari inaugurating eight crucial infrastructure projects across the region. These include four road over bridges (RoBs), three road under bridges (RuBs/subways), and the long-awaited Lakadganj flyover in Nagpur. The new infrastructure is expected to ease traffic congestion, enhance road safety, and eliminate delays caused by railway level crossings.

The inaugurations were part of a broader state-level event where 12 major rail-road projects worth Rs 609 crore, constructed by Maharashtra Rail Infrastructure Development Corporation Limited (MRIDC/MahaRail), were dedicated to the public. While the projects span seven districts of Maharashtra, a significant share is located in Vidarbha, highlighting the region’s growing importance in the state’s infrastructure development plans.
