NHIDCL hastens Rs.625 cr NHs in Meghalaya

In order to speed up the road projects in Meghalaya at an investment of Rs.625 crore, the Transport ministry has recently approved upgrading state road stretches from Nongstoin – Wahkaji into 2-lane. The status report of the National Highway Infrastructure Development Corporation Limited (NHIDCL) says that the proposal for signing of tripartite agreement between NHIDCL, PWD Meghalaya and Consultant is currently under process and that bids for civil work have been invited for which M/s Chaitanaya Projects Consulting Pvt. Ltd is the contractor and that the first 43.06 km road is to be taken up at a total project cost of Rs.365.66 crore including land acquisition. About upgrading of Wahkaji – Phlangdiloin – Ranikor and Domiasiat– Mawthabah road into two lanes, the status report says that the Final DPR was submitted by the consultant to State PWD in the recent past. The proposal for signing of agreement among NHIDCL, PWD Meghalaya and consultant is under process. In this case, the 35 km road is to be constructed at a cost of Rs.259.37 crore.
