NHIDC speeds up Jammu-Akhnoor NH work

In order to build top-class road network in the hill state, the Border Road Organization has recently taken up the work on the four-lane Jammu-Akhnoor national highway shortly after consultants completed the feasibility report work, Minister for R&B Abdul Rehman Veeri, in J&K government, said, adding that the state agencies have received directions from the concerned ministry in this regard. The road from Jammu to Akhnoor has been entrusted to the National Highway Infrastructure Development Corporation for upgrading work including paved shoulders. After floating fresh tenders, the work for the consultancy services for preparation of `Feasibility Study and Detailed Project Report for up-grading the road length to 4-lane has now been awarded to the DPR Consultants and the work is currently in full swing.
