NHAI unveils J&K-Pangi valley connectivity in HP

NHAI
Beacon has completed the re-alignment work of the Galhar-Sansari road from 55.100 km to 58.775 km. Ensuring round the year movement of all types of vehicles on the road connecting Kishtwar district of J&K with HP, the project will also ensure that villages in the remote Paddar region in HP remain connected with other parts of the country. This bypass road will help in evading the world's most dangerous rock-cut stretch on which only light vehicles could ply. The re-alignment work, apart from generating jobs, will also increase the tourism potential of the Padder subdivision and Pangi valley of HP, thus boosting the socio-economic development of the entire region. The road passes through rough mountain terrains with overhanging half tunnelling stretches, mostly in hard rock strata. The sector also experiences heavy snowfall, flash floods, and sub-zero temperatures during winters, making the working conditions tough for the GREF employees and the administration.
