NHAI to build ₹170-cr second-grade seperator on B'luru-Mysuru expressway

National Highways Authority of India (NHAI)
The National Highways Authority of India (NHAI) has launched the construction work of a flyover-cum-underpass on the ten-lane Bengaluru-Mysuru highway stretch at an investment of ₹170 crore. The expansion of the highway to a ten-lane expressway which got its first flyover on the Mysuru-Madikeri Road in Hinkal will soon have its second-grade separator – a flyover-cum-underpass – at the highway junction near Columbia Asia Hospital. The junction is a major bottleneck in the city connecting spots like T Narasipura, Nanjangud, Hunsur and HD Kote to Mysuru from the Outer Ring Road, and leads to Srirangapatna on one side. While vehicles entering or leaving Mysuru via the Outer Ring Road along the underpass, the flyover will only be meant for traffic to and from Bengaluru. This will prevent the junction from turning into a bottleneck where vehicles from all directions jostle to either enter or leave Mysuru. NHAI's Mysuru-Bengaluru Expressway project director, NHAI, BT Sridhar informed that work on the grade separator would start once their design for the structure receives approval from the competent authorities.
