NHAI Prioritizes Service Roads to Decongest Trichy-Thanjavur Highway
With the elevated road plan off the table, coordinated efforts between NHAI and the state government are crucial to implementing the service road project. Despite the lack of service roads on the 14.4-km stretch between Palpannai and Thuvakudi for nearly a decade, the area has seen significant investments, including new commercial complexes on both sides of the highway. While residents demand service roads, some traders suggested an elevated corridor to avoid land acquisition and property loss.
