NHAI Plans Rs 5,000 Cr Signal-Free Elevated Corridor to Ease Delhi-Gurugram Traffic

The National Highways Authority of India (NHAI) has initiated planning for a 20-km elevated corridor to decongest the Delhi-Gurugram (NH-48) stretch and adjoining arterial roads. Estimated to cost around Rs 5,000 crore (subject to DPR evaluation), the project will run from AIIMS/INA to Mahipalpur Bypass and the Gurugram-Faridabad Road, parallel to NH-48.

NHAI has invited bids for preparing the detailed project report (DPR), expected by October 15. The proposed corridor will be signal-free with off-ramp exits at key points including IFFCO Chowk, IGI Airport, and Mahipalpur, ensuring smoother traffic flow towards Ghaziabad, Noida, and Greater Noida.
