NHAI Pilots Automated Construction Tech on Lucknow-Kanpur Expressway

The National Highways Authority of India (NHAI) has launched a pilot project using Automated & Intelligent Machine-aided Construction (AIMC) technology on the Lucknow-Kanpur Greenfield Expressway. The project employs GPS-aided motor graders, intelligent compactors, and stringless pavers to enhance efficiency and quality.

AIMC is expected to reduce construction time, improve productivity, enable real-time digital monitoring, and ensure better surface leveling and uniform compaction. The government is now working on a policy framework to integrate AIMC technology into National Highway projects.
