NHAI
With the Central and state agencies allowing resumption of stalled construction work, NHAI has taken up various road infrastructure projects in Kerala. Work on the second phase of NH-66 Kazhakoottam elevated highway as well as the Karamana- Kaliyikkavila road project have been restarted. NHAI and the state PWD are working together to carry out construction activities in the state, said Project Director, NHAI, P Pradeep. Work on the Kazhakoottam elevated highway has begun with a few workers but more will be made available soon. He also said that the labourers involved in the construction of NH 66 works from Mukkola to Karode are still in camps and have been directed to be present at their respective workplaces. The projects will be completed as quickly as possible before the onset of the monsoon season. The May 31 deadline of the second phase of NH 66 will be extended due to the current lockdown crisis.
