NHAI hastens ₹4,500-cr national highway projects

highway projects
The construction work on the Satellite Town Ring Road (STRR) project, a newly-declared national highway 948A, is all set to start. The ₹4,500 crore project will involve six-laning of NH 948A for a stretch of 45-km in Tamil Nadu and will decongest the Bengaluru traffic and ensure a safe high speed transport corridor to the city and adjoining towns. NHAI is laying an elevated expressway of 6-km to avoid disturbing the wildlife. It would be connected to the proposed Chennai-Bengaluru controlled expressway from Hosur Town ,and to the Chennai Port-Maduravoyal elevated expressway (currently stalled); and also connect eight towns including Dobbespet, Magadi, Ramanagara, Anekal, Hoskote, Devanahalli and Doddaballapur on the outer fringes of Bengaluru.
