NH network gets ₹574-cr funds in J&K

The Central government has approved an amount worth ₹574.16 crore for the national highway works in J&K for the current fiscal. The major work includes the construction of 3.23-km three flyovers in Srinagar on NH-44 (Jammu-Srinagar highway) at Bemina, Sanatnagar and Nowgam at a cost of ₹220.68 crore. The Union transport ministry has asked for the preparation of estimates for the proposed work in the approved annual plan, incorporating the technical parameters and designs as per the IRC provisions. The other works incorporated in the approved annual plan included expressway, four-laning, construction of 6-km 3rd bypass on NH-444 Shopian bypass costing ₹120 crore and the construction of 13.60-km bypasses in Pulwama and Kulgam entailing an investment of ₹62.98 crore.
