Setting up of a free trade and warehousing zone by NDR Infrastructure with over ₹292-crore investment in Tamil Nadu, is set to get approval from the Board of Approval (BoA), Chairman, Commerce Secretary Anup Wadhawan was quoted as saying in a media statement. A free trade and warehousing zone (FTWZ) is a special category of the SEZ, with a focus on trading and warehousing activities. The developer has submitted its application before the BoA for setting of the zone in the Tiruvallur district of Tamil Nadu over an area of about 100 acres. On approval, the developer will be issued a letter of permission for the development, operation and maintenance of the zone, and has been permitted to import duty-free building materials and equipment for building the infrastructure of the zone.
