Nabard unveils ₹55,000-cr rural infra plans

Ensuring smooth flow of funds for its rural infra and allied agricultural developmental schemes of the government, Nabard plans to generate ₹55,000 crore during the current fiscal, said Nabard chairman Harsh Kumar Bhanwala. The amount will also include allocations made to meet any shortfall in the schemes. The lender has been supporting the government’s Pradhan Mantri Awas Yojana in rural areas, Pradhan Mantri Gram Sadak Yojana and Swach Bharat schemes. In its supervisory role of regional rural banks (RRBs), Nabard is preparing a framework for risk-based supervision of RRBs, said Bhanwala.
