IMC-MCW
Ashwini Bhide, Managing Director of Mumbai Metro Rail Corporation Ltd (MMRC), emphasised the need for continued investment in large-scale transport infrastructure such as the Mumbai Metro to support the city's rapid growth and economic importance. Addressing the managing committee of the IMC Chamber of Commerce and Industry, she highlighted that Mumbai and the MMR contribute significantly to Maharashtra’s economy, with nearly 95% of the region being urbanised and expected to generate almost USD 1 trillion of India’s GDP in the coming years.

IMC also announced its partnership with Project Mumbai’s flagship initiative, Mumbai Climate Week (MCW). Shishir Joshi, Founder & CEO of Project Mumbai, said the platform aims to amplify the Global South’s voice, promote climate-resilient communities, and enable partnerships that deliver practical solutions.

IMC President Sunita Ramnathkar said the chamber is committed to supporting sustainable, well-connected urban infrastructure. She added that the Mumbai Metro is not only transforming travel but also shaping the city’s economic and environmental future. The association with Mumbai Climate Week reinforces IMC’s dedication to climate action and building a greener, more inclusive Mumbai.
