Mumbai Coastal Road to be Extended to Virar

The under-construction 8-lane Coastal Road from Nariman Point in Mumbai is set to extend up to Virar in Palghar district, part of the Mumbai Metropolitan Region. Once completed, this extended Coastal Road will reduce travel time between Nariman Point and Virar to just 35-40 minutes. Maharashtra Deputy Chief Minister Devendra Fadnavis informed that the Japanese government has planned to fund ₹54,000 crore for this ambitious extension, marking a significant boost in connectivity for the region.
