M'rashtra steers clears Pune metro project

The state government in Maharashtra has recently cleared the proposed Pune Metro Rail project and the proposal is being sent to the Center for final clearance after which tenders will be floated and work on the mega project will be placed on fast track, said the state Chief Minister. Adding further, that meetings with Pune Municipal Corporation (PMC) and Pimpri Chinchwad Municipal Corporation (PCMC) over various developmental issues were also held. The proposal of Pune Metro Rail Project, which has completed almost all stages, is lying with the Central government's Urban Development Ministry for final approval. The Union Minister for Urban Development, Venkaiah Naidu has personally monitored the entire project and he is making sure that it gets approval very shortly.
