MoRTH launches ₹11,653-cr road in Arunachal Pradesh

The transport minister laid the foundation for national highway projects worth ₹11,653 crore in Arunachal Pradesh recently. The projects include about 96.47 km long national highway project costing ₹2,114.82 crore in Roing region. In Ziro area, he laid the foundation for 472 km of national highways involving an investment of ₹5,583.92 crore, and re-launched a two-lane 351.38 km long Potin-Pangin section of NH-229 entailing a cost of ₹3,956 crore. These projects will improve connectivity between Assam and Arunachal Pradesh and will also connect district headquarters in the state by reducing travel time, besides which, they are a strategic road link in view of national security. Also in the Roing area, the minister inaugurated two bridges across Dibang and Lohit rivers, and an approach road between Chowkham-Digaru with a length of 30.95 km built at an investment of ₹1,508.30 crore.
