MoRTH launches Rs.1,800 cr Bridge projects in Hyderabad
The transport minister laid the foundation for the much-awaited twin flyover projects at Uppal and Amberpet area where the projects are expected to ease traffic flow from Uppal to the core area of Hyderabad at a total investment of about Rs.1,800 crore. In the first case, the Uppal flyover will be constructed at a cost of Rs.1,395 crore where out of the total project cost, the Central government will provide Rs.626.76 crore while the remaining sum of Rs.768.26 crore, will be shared by the GHMC or the State government. The 1.6-km flyover at Amberpet will be taken up by the Greater Hyderabad Municipal Corporation (GHMC) in association with the Roads and Buildings Department. As part of the project, the width of the road at Amberpet, which is currently 18 metres, is expected to be widened to 30-35 metres. To be constructed at a cost of Rs.467.55 crore, the flyover will have Central government chipping in with Rs.226.88 crore while the rest will be from the Telangana government.
