MoRTH kick-starts ₹7,500-cr road projects in UP

The Union transport minister, Nitin Gadkari, has laid the foundation stones for 16 highway projects in Uttar Pradesh. These highway projects cover a road length of 505 kilometres in total and the construction of these infra projects will involve an investment of ₹7,500 crore. These projects will provide better connectivity, convenience to the public and will lead to economic growth in the state. The projects include: construction of a six-lane bridge with a length of 9.90 km, parallel to the existing bridge on Ganga river on NH-96 in Phaphamau in Prayagraj at a cost of ₹1948.25 crore; the strengthening of NH-75E in Sonebhadra from Madhya Pradesh/Uttar Pradesh border to Uttar Pradesh/Jharkhand border thereby covering a distance of 65.21 km at a cost of ₹57.50 crore; strengthening of NH-75E in Sonebhadra from Madhya Pradesh/Uttar Pradesh border to Uttar Pradesh/Jharkhand border with a distance of 26.81 km at a cost of ₹29.63 crore; widening and strengthening of NH-91A from Bharthana Chowk to Kudarkoot in Etawah and Auraiya with a distance of 40 km and entailing an investment worth ₹262.37 crore; widening and strengthening of NH-135C from Drumandganj to Halia in Mirzapur, covering a distance of 18.40 km at a cost of ₹39.37 crore; widening as well as the strengthening of NH-135C from Rampur to Bhadewara in Prayagraj, covering a distance of 15 km at a cost of ₹76.23 crore; strengthening of NH-227A between Sikringanj and Gola in Gorakhpur, covering a distance of 9 km at a cost of ₹37.52 crore; widening and upgrading of NH-730 between Tamkuhiraj and Padrauna in Kushinagar, covering a distance of 19 km at a cost of ₹69.67 crore.
