MoRTH clears Rs.349 cr flyover in Kerala
De-congesting the roads in the area, the transport ministry has recently cleared 2.7 km-long flyover to be built at Kazhakuttam along the NH-66 and the NH 66 bypass extending to Karode on EPC mode at an investment of Rs.349 crore. The project in question is the longest flyover in the State capital and is being executed by NHAI for the Union Ministry of Road Transport and Highways. The MoRTH has cleared the technical schedule and the stage is set for floating tenders. The four-lane flyover is to commence from near the main gate of Technopark on the NH 66 bypass and terminate near the CSI Mission Hospital in NH 66 enroute to Kollam. Soil testing has commenced for the flyover to come up in 75 odd piers, each 30 meters apart. The pillars to come up in the median will have a diameter of four meters and the main carriageway will be 21 meters and the project would be completed in 18 months once the work is awarded.
