MoRTH clears Rs. 1,173-cr road projects

Injecting yet another booster to the road network of the north-eastern states, the Ministry of Road Transport and Highways (MoRTH) has recently cleared four road projects with a length of 112.88-km and entailing an investment of Rs. 1173.98cr. Out of the total projects, two are in Manipur, one each in Nagaland and Arunachal Pradesh and the first project is for strengthening of the existing two lane pavement and providing paved shoulder on a 47.67-km stretch of NH-39 (Mao–Imphal section) in Manipur at a cost of Rs. 230.46cr, said official sources, claiming that land has already been acquired for the purposes. The second project also involved similar scope of work on NH 39 (Mao-Imphal section) in Manipur at a cost of Rs. 139.87cr. The project in Arunachal Pradesh is for 4-laning of 10.9 km of Itanagar to Banderdewa section of NH-415 entailed Rs. 341.83-cr investments. Likewise, the project in Nagaland involved the improvement of 27.3-km of city portion of NH-39 through Dimapur and Kohima entailing an investment of Rs. 461.82cr.
