MoRTH clears ₹5,500-cr RRR road in Telangana

The Central government has approved the much awaited Regional Ring Road (RRR) involving an investment of ₹5,500 crore. The National Highways Authority of India (NHAI) has asked the Telangana state government to present a DPR and also fast track the land acquisition process. The project will be extended to 362 km around the Hyderabad city to facilitate connectivity between regions. The road is likely to be of four lanes from Sangareddy to Kandi through Narsapur, Toopran, Gajwel, Jagdevpur, Bhongir, Choutuppal, Ibrahimpatnam, Chevella and Shankarpalli. The Central government will bear 50% of the cost for the RRR.
