MoRTH approves ₹6,176-cr road & highway projects

The Union transport ministry has approved highway projects worth over ₹6,176 crore across states and union territories in the country. They have been cleared for Maharashtra, Assam, Andhra Pradesh and Ladakh which mostly pertain to up-gradation, rehabilitation and reconstruction. The projects include ₹2,801.33 crore in Maharashtra and ₹1,259 crore in Assam while projects worth ₹779 crore have been approved for Ladakh and ₹810 crore have been cleared for Andhra Pradesh.

In Maharashtra, the ministry has approved ₹171 crore for the up-gradation of a section of the Guhagar-Chiplun Road on NH 166 E, ₹252 crore for the rehabilitation and up-gradation of the Jalgaon-Bhadraon-Chalisgaon-Nandgaon-Manmad Road on NH 753 J to two-lane/four-lane, ₹282 crore for the up-gradation of NH 353C from 262 km to 321 km and the construction of 16 minor and major bridges in Gadchiroli district, at ₹228 crore for the rehabilitation and up-gradation of two lanes from Watur to the Charthana section of NH 752 I, ₹282 crore for the up-gradation of a section of Tirora-Gondia on NH 753 to two lanes and ₹167 crore for the up-gradation of a section of Tarere–Gaganbawda–Kolhapur on NH 166 G. Further, ₹288.13 crore has been approved for the up-gradation of a section of the TiroraGondia state highway, including the construction length of 28.2 km on NH 753, ₹478.83 crore has been approved for the construction of a flyover from Nagpur RTO Chowk to Nagpur University Campus.
