MMRDA invites bids to supply Head Hardened rails for Mumbai metro

Mumbai Metropolitan Region Development Authority (MMRDA) has invited bids to supply 9800 MT of Head Hardened Rails for Mumbai Metro's 32.32 km long Line-4 and 2.88 km Line-4A (Green Line) connecting Wadala – Kasarvadavali – Gaimukh through 34 elevated stations. These rails will be 60E1 – 1080 grade as per Indian Railway Specification T-12-2009 and manufactured through a special heat treatment process to provide additional strength, lower residual stress, elongate track-life and minimize maintenance. Scope of the work includes the supply of 9800 MT 60E1 (UIC-60), 1080 grade head hardened (HH) rails as per IRS T-12-2009 for Line-4 [Bhakti Park – Kasavadavali] and extension corridor [Kasaravadavli – Gaimukh] of Mumbai Metro Rail Project of MMRDA involving an estimated investment of ₹80.46 crore with a 15-month deadline.
